So I feel like I have so much to write about and say in general for this blog but being 35 weeks pregnant It has been really difficult to be motivated to much of anything at night. Which is when I usually have the most time to sit and think. But right now all I seem to want to do after the girls go to bed is sit minus the “think.” My next post will be about living large and 9 months in charge where I will go into a little more detail.
But for now I wanted to share about my trip to Arizona where I visited my sister, her husband, and met up with my two of my other sister and younger brother. It has definitely been over a month since we went on this little weekend getaway but I wanted to post anyways because it was so much fun.
My brother in law’s parents belong to a gorgeous country club with a small lake on one side and pools on the other. We decided to hangout at the “kiddie” pool that had sand, waterfalls, and a playground all around it. It was definitely a good decision. So gorgeous and most importantly relaxing. I don’t know what kind of mood I was in to take this swimming suit picture but it was definitely more for me than anything but ya know what? It finally felt really good to sit in the sun with my pregnant skin and not care what people think. Definitely trying to take on that mentality this time around.
I have two sisters that are my best friends. My younger sister Kelli is the one who lives in Arizona. Tawni is my older sister who lives in Utah and I am hoping one day soon they will join me again in California. I talked my brother John in to moving near us a couple years ago so we hangout all the time and my girls love having him around. I also have an older brother and even younger brother that didn’t join us on this trip but my siblings and I are very close and get each other laughing harder than anyone I know. Fortunately there isn’t a lot of fighting, hostility, or jealousy because we just don’t need that kind of drama in our lives.
While it’s raining at home during spring time in March, it’s a toasty 85 degrees in Arizona. And although it might be a nice warm change for us, my sister said it’s just the beginning. It only gets hotter and hotter. So the shopping here was quite the experience. They have all these gorgeous outdoor shopping centers yet during the summer I guess they are all empty because its too hot for anyone to even go outside. Anyways, one of my favorite spots was the Old Scottsdale shopping center with the cutest shops, boutiques, and outdoor markets full of unique goodies. We stumbled upon this creepy doll scene in one of the stores and it definitely caught our attention.
On our last day we went to eat at this gorgeous place called The Farm at South Mountain which is actually on a farm with a gorgeous atmosphere and amazing food. They have two restaurants on the property and one of them is the obvious popular choice. We wanted to eat at the Morning Glory Cafe for brunch but the 2 hour wait was not part of our plan. So we walked over to the Farm Kitchen which was a walk up and order with all fresh unique food for lunch. I wish I took more pictures of the actual restaurants or my food but they have a website so check it out if you are nearby. If this place existed where I live, I would be there every weekend. Great place for kids to run around and explore.
Aside from the overnight flight delay on the way home….ya it was total chaos for a bit….it was still such a fun trip. If you are close to your siblings but sadly have not achieved those dreams of all living on the same street with bbq’s on the weekends…. I suggest taking a siblings trip. If you have the opportunity to get away without the kids, plan a trip each year to visit each of your hometowns.
